| SPRING INTO ACTION As moms, our natural inclination is to be nurturers, caretakers, and supporters. Unfortunately, in the process of supporting others we tend to develop a routine of putting ourselves on a backburner. I will be the first to admit that focusing on the needs of my three children is my top priority in life and that my needs often get left behind. Although I do not regret being everything that my children need me to be, I have to periodically stop and conduct a self-assessment and be sure that I am also investing in my own physical, mental, and emotional well-being in order to continue to be the best mom possible. Simply stated, when we neglect our own needs we cannot possibly offer the best of ourselves to our families. So, with the arrival of Spring and longer daylight hours I urge you to spring into action to be your very best as it relates to self-care. Remember, how you feel on the inside is reflected in your personality and your dealings with those closest to you. |
