HELP!!! I'm Struggling to Choose a Major
The UrbanGirlz Education Feature

Preparing tomorrow's leaders today!
The first two years of college will be the biggest
change you will experience in your life.  You will move
from the watchful eye of your parents into a world filled
with opportunity and expectation.

The first thing most family members will ask when you
return home during the holidays is, "what's your
major?"

Most first year freshman don't have an answer.
This Month in Education
From Biology to Chemistry, the science
field is growing rapidly and educated,

When considering what course of study to take, consider your likes, dislikes and
talents.  Knowing these things about yourself will help you identify those subjects
that spark your interest.

Also keep in mind things in which you excel.  If you are a great reader, voice overs
for the entertainment industry may be just right for you.  Regardless of the exact
major, make sure to do what you would do for free.
The time of living in a house for forty
years have passed.  Most families move
due to their jobs transferring or
relocating to another area.

Each time the family moves, the kids
have to go to a new school and meet
new people.
Here are some helpful tips to making your transition:

1.  Don't change to fit in.  Being yourself is the best way to attract the
people who really become life long friends.
2.  Keep in touch with the people from your old school.  Keeping a
book with phone numbers, email addresses and connecting on
MySpace is a great way to growing your friend base.
3.  Attend school functions.  Going to the games at your school will
allow you to be seen around school, and the more people get to
see you, the more they want to know you.
4.  Be friendly.  Putting on a mean face and hanging by yourself may
make others feel you don't want any friends.  Socialize and let
  your beautiful personality shine through.
Taking tests can not only be nerve wracking it
can literally send someone into a full blown
panic attack.  Don't let that be you.

Preparation is the key to passing test
whether it be a pop quiz, or a college
entrance exam.  Some key practices can help
you master your fear and allow the
information to flow freely.
PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE

Go online and begin practicing with online testing sites.  The more you practice
and take the test over and over again the more comfortable you will become
with the questions, the timing and the format of the exam.

Online practice sites also give you an opportunity to see which subjects you are
strong in and which ones you may need more work on.  The more you take the
test the better you will become at mastering your TEST fears.
